Subunkins

Our family pond was home to some rather beautiful fish, and I could spend hours watching them glide through the water, their colourful markings shimmering beneath the surface.

There was always a little amusement when people mistook them for expensive koi carp. In reality, they were simply shubunkins, although I rather liked to think of them as our little impostors!

Shubunkins is a playful celebration of those colourful characters, their beautiful markings and the gentle way they moved through the pond. A little reminder of the simple pleasures of childhood and the joy of watching life beneath the water."
